My New Little Friend

Hi!  I have had a special new 'visitor' living near my front door this summer.  I've named her 'Gianormo'!  She's an orb spider or sometimes called a 'cat-face' spider. She's lovely!

We don't have a lot of spiders her size around here -  too cold - but she has really grown over this summer.  I've watched her eat a moth twice and groom herself once.  Too cool!  BTW, what looks like a cat face is on her back -  or should I say it's the back of her ....EGG SACK!!!!!   WHOOOOOO!  Lots of lil' Gianormos next summer!

Mojo 200!!!

Congrats to Julia Tilman/Verve for the 200th Mojo Monday Challenge.

I am SO IN LOVE with my copics!  I have been spending way toooo much time playing with colour & shading but I just adore them.  I found a really great website that has fantastic digital stamp designs - Wax Fruit Company.  These digitals are perfect for experimenting with your copics.  I used the "Simply Sown" digital in the Flora section for this card.  It's an amazing image to practice shading with.
Here's what the digi looks like (without the watermark when you buy it, of course) -

And here's what I did with it -

I used:  Wax Fruit Company "Simply Sown" digital image; SU Pattern Pack III DSP - Mellow Moss; Black CS; Watercolour paper; copics (C0-C4, G20-G29); SU Basic Gray taffeta ribbon and; SU Circle brads; 1 3/4 circle punch; Nestibilities- circle; sentiment done on MSWord.

I have also been playing around with another image from Wax Fruit Company  - Gammaw's Quilt (look in This & That).  I love the way the quilt folds.

I used:    Wax Fruit Company  - Gammaw's Quilt; SU Pattern Pack III DSP -  Really Rust; Really SU Rust CS & ink; Watercolour paper; Verve stamp 'Plain Jane - Feel Better'; too many copics to remember (sorry); SU Mistletoe ribbon; K & Company brad.

Have a happy day!

Burlesque Bessie - SOOOOO Cute!

Hey! Tomorrow is my neighbour Jan's 40th birthday, so I decided to make something fun for her.  I just love this digi stamp from Bizzy Becs OnLine Blog Store.  Of course, any reason to use my copics is a celebration for me.
I used some B&W retired SU paper, Glitter Stack paper, dollar store bling, copics & my crimper to give the curtains some texture.
I hope Jan has the happiest of birthdays!

Just Some Random Cards

We still have snow here which means it's too early for gardening and I was tired of cleaning so I have been just doing what I want. And this is what I wanted to do... just some Random Cards for all kinds of occasions.
I bought the Grab Bag from the Stampin Up clearance and I challenged myself to make something with what was in it.  I also enjoy trying the same style &/or image but mixing & matching.  Or I have elements left from other projects and I use them in a different way.
It's all about being a little creative and a great way to spend some snowy days!

Another Kick at the ...

I love this Mojo sketch so I thought I'd try another one.

I used the retired Black & White paper, border punch & Organza and black 1/4" ribbon from SU; Dollar Store metal buckle & Bling from Michaels.  The stamp is from SU Day of Gratitude stamp set - embossed with black.  It's a little hard to tell from the picture but there's a large black gem in the centre of the medallion.

Mojo181

FINALLY!  After many weeks without inspiration or time for the Mojo, everything came together today for Mojo181.  And here are the results....

I used a beautiful piece of designer paper that came from Basic Grey called 'Cappella - Aria'; Early Espresso paper & ink from SU; "Birthday Wishes" from Verve's Wishful Elegance set; ribbon, bling, flower & lace from Michaels; feathers kindly donated by the kitties from a cat toy - (ya gotta use what ya got!) & a diamond border punch from Fiskers.
I think it works well together.  What do you think?
Happy International Women's Day to all the Fabulous Ladies with so much creativity!
I love to see all your creations.

Mojo Monday 160

Mojo Monday -160 Sketch

Halloween is just around the corner, so I thought I would pull out the 'scary' stamps for this Mojo. I've had this cute pumpkin for 15+ yrs and I still love it. With a few copics, Atyouspica markers & some SU DSP, Only Orange & Basic Black card stock, it's come back to life.

Mojo 159

FINALLY! I had a few minutes to create! The cat is healed & the house work is done. So, here are my submissions for Mojo Monday 159. They aren't EXACTLY like the sketch but I think close enough to be contenders.

The Sketch:

My efforts:
It's hard to see but I added a little bling to this one.  I found these AMAZING pens that are like gel pens with super fine crushed glass in the ink.  They are great to add just a little sparkle to a project and really, really easy to control (no glitter & glue everywhere).  They're called 'atyouSpica' pens (Japanese name).  Look for them -  you'll luv'em!  I used 'clear' & 'sand'.
The paper & ink is SU Very Vanilla & Early Espresso.
Ribbon is SU Soft Suede.  The buckle is from the dollar store.
The dress form image is from 'Impression Obsession, Inc. - Mannequins'.
The medallion & sentiment is 'SU - Vintage Labels'.
Embossing plate - Cuttlebug 'Swiss Dots'.

Again, I used paper & ink from SU - Very Vanilla & Early Espresso. (I'm crazy about this combo.)
Image - Rubber Stampede - 'Woman in Repose'.
Medallion & twine from the dollar store.
Embossing plate - Cuttlebug 'Script'.

I hope you like them.  And I hope to have time for more tomorrow. Have a great day!

Random Cards

These are some of the cards I made a while back. I really like them & I thought I would share them with you.

I really wanted to wish you A Very Happy Birthday....
.... but I was drunk!
Happy Belated Birthday!

No Mojo Lately...

I've missed 'doin' the Mojo' for the last few weeks. It seems I've had change of address - I live on the corner of Chaos & Mayhem now - the exact address being 'HELL'!  My pretty little girl (cat) Miss Penny, crushed her leg in June & helping her heal has taken up a lot of time & energy this summer. It's been really hard for her but she has been a real trooper. Miss Penny has been super cooperative for the Vet and is a great patient. She wants to lick her itchy leg & she can't go outside.  That's really hard for her.  But all of this has been hard for my boys, Jag & Prince, as well.  All our routines are out of whack. I am hoping she is almost done healing. She had skin grafts last week & we'll see if they took tomorrow. Poor lil' monkey!  Wish her the best...

Note: Miss Penny got her bandage off & the skin grafts took!  We are on the final stretch of the healing process. YAH!!

I got some fabulous stamps from Verve last week that I'm DYING to use. I hope I get time this week.... :-D !

Mojo 151 times Two

I love Mojo Monday and I love to try the same sketch more than once. It really gives my creativity a push. Here are a couple of stabs at Mojo 151 that are as different as I can make them.
